About Samantha Krop

Samantha has spent her career bringing people together to protect clean water and healthy communities. As an environmental advocate, educator, coalition builder, and mom, she is committed to making sure Wake County remains a place where our communities and nature resources thrive.

Samantha has over a decade experience working alongside residents, farmers, scientists, and local leaders to protect clean water, conserve forests, and find practical solutions to environmental challenges. With a Master's degree in Education, she believes that lasting conservation begins with informed communities and strong partnerships. In her professional work as Neuse Riverkeeper and Director of Advocacy for a local nonprofit,  she has built coalitions, protected critical watersheds, and helped connect people with the resources they need to care for the places we all depend on. She has also had the opportunity to serve on the City of Raleigh's Stormwater Management Advisory Commission and on regional committees overseeing nutrient management in the Neuse River and Falls Lake watersheds, giving her firsthand experience working across local government, science, and community interests.

As a new mom, protecting our natural resources has taken on an even deeper meaning for Samantha.  She wants her child—and every family in Wake County—to inherit clean water, healthy soils, and thriving natural spaces.

Samantha believes that conservation is inseparable from environmental justice. Her career has shown that she is willing to do the hard work—whether that means holding polluters accountable, standing up for communities whose voices too often go unheard, or tackling difficult environmental challenges with integrity and persistence. 

Samantha is running for Wake Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor because healthy communities depend on healthy landscapes. If elected, she will bring science-based decision-making, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting farmers and landowners while protecting the natural resources that sustain us—for today's residents and future generations.
